Ten Dodgers filed for salary arbitration. They were: Tim Belcher, Tim Crews, Jim Gott, Fernando Valenzuela, Jeff Hamilton, Mickey Hatcher, Kal Daniels, Juan Samuel, Stan Javier and Jose Gonzalez. Salary demands and clubs offers will be exchanged Friday. Daniels and Valenzeula reportedly are seeking $2 million each.

In other developments, five players agreed to contracts before the arbitration deadline, including Cleveland catcher Joel Skinner, who got a three-year deal worth $2 million.

The other four players settled on one-year deals: Pitcher Scott Bankhead (Seattle), $755,000, the same salary he made last season; pitcher Bill Wegman (Milwaukee), $440,000, a raise of $150,000; outfielder Keith Miller (New York Mets), $260,000, a raise of $137,500; and pitcher Steve Ontiveros (Philadelphia), to $180,000, the same salary as season.
