PLATFORM : FBI Intimidation

There is no reason whatsoever for the FBI or any other authorities to conduct interviews that make Arab-Americans, whether intended or otherwise, look suspect.

When I was first interviewed (by the FBI), I thought they were concerned about violence against Arab-Americans. But they were not as concerned with our safety as they were with getting information about terrorists. It leads me to believe that they assume that because we are a part of the Middle Eastern community that we would have some affiliation with terrorism or would have some knowledge of terrorist acts.

The FBI should not only be concerned with the views that certain people have or the particular nationality of someone or the ideology of someone, they should be concerned with acts of violence. Several have been committed against Arab-Americans in this country, and very well may continue in lieu of growing world tension.

I want to see an end to these so-called interviews.
