Poway 84, Vista 56--Poway shot between 55% in the first half and went in at halftime up by 19. It was never close after that as Kyle Milling scored 20, Matt Fletcher 19 and Frank Garrett 13 for Poway. Milling also pulled down 15 rebounds and Garrett grabbed 12 more.

Nils Michals made five three-pointers and led Vista with 21 and teammate Jason Barnes added 13.

San Dieguito 62, Fallbrook 50--Sean Howard scored 20 and Matt De la Pena added 18 as San Dieguito improved to 6-6, 3-2. Fallbrook fell to 10-7, 3-2.

Rancho Buena Vista 86, Orange Glen 54--Darryl Parker and Brad Grubaugh each scored 22 points for RBV (8-8, 3-2). Grubaugh made six three-pointers to tie RBV’s school record of three-pointers in a game. The Longhorns made 11 three-pointers to break their existing school record of eight.

James Paker led Orange Glen with 11 points.

Avocado League

Ramona 94, Carlsbad 72--Ramona (9-4, 4-1) was led by Alfonso De La Nuez, who scored 34 points and Travis Knight, who scored 32. De La Nuez shot 11 of 15 from the floor, 10 of 11 from the line, made both three-point attempts, had eight assists and seven steals.

Knight shot 13 of 21 from the floor, six of nine from the line, had 14 rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots.

Sophomore Rusty Hoss came off the bench for Ramona to score 11 points and was second in rebounding with 13.

Chad Nelson scored 22 points and Calvin Coleman added 14 for Carlsbad (3-2).

San Pasqual 79, Escondido 50--Erik Meek scored 34 points and Richard Stark added 13 for San Pasqual (4-1). Escondido (3-9, 1-4) Damian Cephas and 17 points and Mike Frank added 10.

El Camino 81, San Marcos 50--Jeff Reeves scored 19, Sean Scurry 14 and Bryant Westbrook added 10 for El Camino. Teammate Keith McCoy had for 12 assists as first-place El Camino improved to 11-3, 4-1. San Marcos fell to 3-8, 0-5.

Oceanside 78, Rancho Bernardo 56--Oceanside improved to 6-10, 3-2, and Rancho Bernardo fell to 3-10, 1-4.

Metro Conference

Bonita Vista 70, Montgomery 49--Mike Barnett led Bonita Vista (11-4, 5-2) with 18 points and teammate David Rusk added 13. Rope Perry had 12 for the Barons, who did not allow any Montgomery player to reach double figures. The Aztecs fell to 3-13, 2-5.

Chula Vista 73, Sweetwater 68--Sweetwater had not lost a league game but trailed from the beginning, getting only as close as six, 67-61. Chula Vista extinguished the late rally when Jerome Green and Donnie Edwards capitalized on a couple fast breaks to seal the victory.

Green finished with 21 points and Edwards with 10. Teammates Shane Howell had 16 and Ken McDuffy had 10. McCduffy also had 10 assists as Chula Vista improved to 11-8, 5-2.

Sweetwater’s Melvin Rushing led all scorers with 22 as the Red Devils fell to 14-5, 6-1.

Southwest 63, Castle Park 52--Jerry Racette scored 23 to lead Southwest (11-7, 5-2). Racette also pulled down nine rebounds. Teammate Devin Patterson came through with 17 points. Castle Park fell to 6-10, 3-4.
