The Oilers scored on three of their first five shots against Glenn Healy, who was pulled after the first period in favor of Jeff Hacket.

Philadelphia 5, Quebec 1--Ron Hextall made 25 saves and Rick Tocchet scored his 31st goal, tying him for second-best in the NHL, as the Flyers beat the Nordiques at Philadelphia.

Montreal 4, St. Louis 2--Mike McPhee and Russ Courtnall each had two goals and an assist at St. Louis as the Canadiens blanked Brett Hull, ending the Blues’ five-game unbeaten streak. Hull, bidding to become the fifth player in NHL history to score 50 goals in 50 games, has 46 in 47 games.

Pittsburgh 6, Toronto 5--Scott Young’s goal 3:31 into overtime gave the Penguins a victory at Toronto and kept the Maple Leafs winless (0-5-2) in 1991. John Cullen had a hat trick for Pittsburgh.
