COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Golden West Women Win to Extend Streak to 16

The Golden West College women’s basketball team won its 16th consecutive game Friday with an 81-49 victory over Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference game at Golden West.

Bits Sirchia scored 20 points to lead Golden West (24-1, 6-0 in conference), the top-ranked team in the state. Golden West finished the first half with an 18-3 run to take a 37-22 lead. Sirchia had 15 points in the first half, all in the last 7:33.

Orange Coast 76, Cypress 34--Erika Manning scored 24 points for visiting Orange Coast (12-12, 2-3) and Chris Bazzel had 13 for Cypress (2-20, 1-4).

Riverside 61, Fullerton 46--Fullerton shot 27% (17 for 62) in the loss at Riverside. Nicki Durity scored 11 points for Fullerton (17-5, 2-2). Kartina Sullivan scored 20 for Riverside (17-6, 3-1).
