Share

The body of a baby born Saturday night was discovered hours later in a plastic trash bag in a remote area of Laguna Hills, sheriff’s deputies said Sunday.

An autopsy revealed that the preliminary cause of death was suffocation, Sheriff’s Lt. Larry Abbott said. The baby boy was full term and had been born alive.

Abbott said a motorist called authorities at 8:48 p.m. Saturday after stopping to remove the bag from the middle of Aliso Creek Road near Glenwood Drive, less than a mile east of El Toro Road.
