Arson Investigators Probe Fire at Home in Beverly Hills

Share

Arson investigators Sunday sifted through fire debris of a Beverly Hills home that burned Saturday evening.

Damage to the house on Robert Lane was estimated at $450,000 by Beverly Hills Fire Department Battalion Chief Bob Cavaglieri.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries, he said.

The one-story house is owned by Hal and Cynthia Gershman, who have been active in a variety of philanthropic causes. They were not home at the time.

Cavaglieri said the fire appeared to have started near the front door and spread to the attic. A family station wagon parked in front of the house also burned, he said.

Investigators from the South Bay Arson Fire Control Team assisted the Beverly Hills Fire Department in the arson investigation.
