From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Someone must have handed over the key to the city to Scott Brower. For one week, the Gull goalie owned Milwaukee and its hockey team.

Brower won his fourth consecutive game--all against the Admirals--and the Gulls won their fourth in the past five with a 6-1 victory Sunday at Bradley Center in front of 5,967.

Brower (8-7-3) stopped 29 of 30 shots. He was a 4-1 winner Saturday against the Admirals, and beat them 4-3 and 3-2 earlier in the week in San Diego.

The Gulls (22-21-4) remained in third place in the Western Division of the International Hockey League.

The Gulls were shorthanded for almost the first 10 minutes of the game but didn’t allow a goal. Center Ron Duguay drew a game misconduct 43 seconds into the first period, and defenseman Al Tuer was ejected at 4:59 of the period for fighting.

San Diego’s first two goals--by Darren Lowe and Dennis Holland--came on power plays. Holland also scored in the third period. Also scoring were Larry Floyd, Rob MacInnis (power play), and Taylor Hall.

Milwaukee (18-24-3) is fifth in the IHL West.
