Swiss writer Andre Kaminski, whose novel “Next Year in Jerusalem” brought him world acclaim late in life, has died, his family said. He was 67.

They said the announcement of his death Jan. 12 was delayed so relatives could be notified.

Kaminski was born in Geneva of Polish and Jewish descent. His best-selling novel, also titled “Kith and Kin,” was published in 1986 and traced his family roots in an anecdotal style that ended with his birth at the end of World War I.
