Bound for Holy Land: Two Jewish entertainers, concerned about the Persian Gulf War, have temporarily left their Broadway shows to check on the situation in Israel. Comedian Jackie Mason canceled three days of his one-man show, “Jackie Mason: Brand New,” to visit Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on a trip arranged by the Israeli Consulate. His three-day tour will include meetings with Tel Aviv Mayor Shlomo Lahat and Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kolek. Israeli actor Topol, the star of the revival of “Fiddler on the Roof,” also is taking a week off from the musical to visit family and friends in Tel Aviv.
