Round-Trip Blue Line Tickets to Be Offered

Share

Metro Blue Line passengers soon will be able to buy round-trip tickets for service along the 21-mile line between Long Beach and Los Angeles under action that the RTD board took Thursday.

The program will begin in about a month, or as soon as the existing one-way ticket machines are modified, said Andrea Greene, spokeswoman for the Southern California Rapid Transit District. The round-trip ticketing operation is designed to coincide with the projected opening next month of the final Blue Line station, which is underground at 7th and Flower streets, Greene said.

Senior citizens will be able to ride for $1 round trip, Greene said. The program will start on an experimental basis but can be extended later by board action, Greene said.
