From Times Wire Services
NEW YORK —
Xavier McDaniel of the Phoenix Suns was fined $1,500 by the NBA today for his role in a fight with Portland’s Jerome Kersey.
Rod Thorn, the NBA’s vice president of operations, said McDaniel was fined for starting the incident in Tuesday night’s game by throwing a forearm at Kersey.
After Kersey fouled McDaniel on a rebound attempt, McDaniel grabbed Kersey’s jersey and hit him with his left forearm. Referee Dick Bavetta ejected both players for fighting.
