Peter Price, a founder of the sports daily the National, has quietly severed all ties to the newspaper. The newspaper, which marks its first year Jan. 31, made no announcement about Price’s departure but dropped his name recently from its masthead, which lists the paper’s top officers.

Price had been president and publisher, but in November he was relieved of day-to-day responsibilities. Emilio Azcarraga, the Mexican media baron who controls the partnership that owns the National, installed Jaime Davila to oversee day-to-day operations.
