2 Drug Arrests After Routine Stop

Two people were arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of possessing narcotics after a routine traffic stop in Imperial Beach lead San Diego sheriff’s detectives to the suspects at two National City motels.

Narcotics investigators arrested Michelle Haney, 34, at the Ha’ Penny Inn at 1535 E. Plaza Blvd. in National City and Shirley N. Schreyer, 27, at the Best Pacific Motel at 1640 E. Plaza Blvd.

Haney was arrested on suspicion of possessing 3 1/2 ounces of cocaine, 1 1/4 ounces of methamphetamine and one pound of ephedrine, a chemical used to make methamphetamine. She also was charged with possession for sale of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Schreyer was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine after police found one-quarter gram of the drug. Both are being held in the Las Colinas jail in Santee. Haney is being held in lieu of $15,000 bail. Schreyer’s bail is $3,000.

In a related incident, detectives helped Imperial Beach police arrest Todd C. DiCiccio, 20, an escapee of a work furlough program, after they received a robbery and kidnap call.

Authorities provided no further details of the incident involving DiCiccio or that of the two women.
