Monterey Park : New Parking Permit Fee
The City Council on Monday established a new, standard $10 charge for parking permits in all parts of the city.
The council also imposed a limit of three permits per household. Previously, residents near Monterey Park Hospital paid $20 for an unlimited number of permits. Residents near East Los Angeles College could buy an unlimited number of permits, but had to pay $20 apiece for them.
Fees for the parking permits--which are one-time only purchases--are effective immediately.
To preserve parking spaces for residents, the city prohibits parking without a permit or visitor’s pass on certain streets between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., except on holidays.
