Fox’s “Home Alone” not only held onto the No. 1 spot in box office ticket sales for the 12th consecutive week, but actually saw business jump 11% over the previous weekend. Other films showing increased post-Super Bowl business were: “Dances With Wolves,” up 13%; Buena Vista’s “White Fang,” up 2%; and Universal’s “Once Around,” up 7%. Buena Vista’s “Green Card,” which widened to 703 screens, led all films in per-screen average ($5,762). New titles in wide release performed poorly. Studio Three’s horror spoof “Popcorn” earned just $2.5 million at 1,059 theaters, while Buena Vista’s “Run”--failing to hurdle a wall of bad reviews--did just $2.2 million at 1,173 theaters.
* “Queens Logic,” boasting an acclaimed ensemble cast in a tale of Angst in New York, debuted with a soft $144,341 on 37 screens, a per-screen average of $3,901.
