Father, Son Among 3 Killed in Gun Battle
A father and his son were among the three men who were fatally wounded in a gun battle Sunday on a Huntington Park street, authorities said Monday.
Graciano Serrano Sr., 50, and Graciano Serrano Jr., 19, were shot and killed in front of their residence on the 5900 block of Carmelita Avenue, Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Linnemeyer said. Carl Dupuis, 32, of South Gate also died of wounds suffered in the shootout with the Serranos, Linnemeyer said. Authorities declined to identify a fourth man, who was in critical condition at USC-County Medical Center, because of the investigation.
Detectives were looking into reports that the Serranos were discussing the sale of a car to Dupuis and the unidentified man when the shooting started. Detectives also were trying to determine if a fifth man was involved.
