COUNTYWIDE : Cold Front to Bring Fog to the County

Share

An offshore cold front moving into the county is expected to bring cooler temperatures and morning fog today, weather forecasters said.

“There should be fog along the coast and coastal valleys that will burn off by the afternoon,” said Steve Burback, a meteorologist for WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times.

Burback said the Pacific cold front is part of a weather condition that is dumping rain and snow in the northern part of the state.

Morning fog today “could be dense and cut visibility as low as a mile in some localized spots,” Burback said.

Burback said the fog should give way to mostly cloudy skies the rest of the day. He added that there is a slight possibility of light showers this afternoon and evening.

“It won’t be too much, if anything,” he said.

Temperatures in the county today should reach a high in the upper 50s, down considerably from Monday’s high of 73 degrees in Anaheim, Burback said. Low temperatures tonight are expected to be in the low 40s.

Fog lingered along the county’s coastal areas Monday morning but did not prevent any noticeable problems on the roads or at John Wayne Airport, authorities said. The fog later burned off and brought hazy skies.

Warmer weather and partly cloudy skies should arrive Wednesday after the cold front moves eastward, Burback said.
