Everything about President Bush’s new budget Monday is big, including the size of the book, which weighs seven pounds.

Although Bush estimated that spending would go up 2.6% between 1991 and 1992, his budget book’s verbiage soared more than 27% to explain it. The red-white-and-blue document is 1 1/2 pounds heavier than last year’s book. It is 2 1/2 inches thick, a half-inch increase.

And the cost of the book for budget-browsers went up as well, $41, compared with last year’s $38.
