Temple City : Mini-Mall Parking Rules

Share

In an effort to improve parking and aesthetics at new mini-malls, the City Council decided Tuesday that stores in such malls must be at least 1,000 square feet and provide at least seven parking spaces each.

Also, the council decided that at least 10% of mini-mall parking lots must be devoted to landscaping, including at least one tree for every four parking spaces.

In addition, the council will require developers to apply for special city approval--in the form of a conditional-use permit--before beginning mini-mall construction.

And, to discourage mini-malls with lots of tiny stores, the council said developments on lots smaller than 18,000 square feet may have no more than two business units.
