AIR JORDAN: Magic Johnson has rapped. Darryl Strawberry has rocked. And now Michael Jordan is ready to roll, making his musical debut in his new home video, “Michael Jordan’s Playground,” which features the Chicago Bulls hoops star performing with Kid ‘n Play, Lisa Lisa, Cheryl (Pepsii) Riley and Full Force on a new song called “Anything’s Possible.” The video, which also includes Jordan’s NBA highlights and dramatic vignettes, is due out this week from CBS-Fox Video. . . . Billboard magazine is expected to make an announcement Monday that it has named Timothy White as its new editor-in-chief. A longtime rock writer and editor, White has been hosting the syndicated radio program, “Timothy White’s Rock Stars,” and recently released a new collection of pop profiles, titled “Rock Lives.”. . . Who’s hot? A&R; scouts have been checking out the Mighty Hornets, the new Thursday-night house band at the China Club. Fronted by Jesse Kaye (who sings and plays stand-up bass), Jimmy King on guitar and Beachy on drums, the rocksters have been joined on stage in recent weeks by Billy Idol and the Stray Cats.
