Apparent Robbery Victim Found Dead in Apartment
A woman found shot to death in her Hancock Park apartment was apparently slain by a man who robbed her, police said Sunday. Patsy Nakamura, 27, was shot late Friday inside her studio apartment, a small house behind a residence in the 600 block of South June Street. She died early Saturday of her injuries at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. No suspect was in custody.
Detective John McCarley said the suspect, believed to be a man, rifled Nakamura’s purse before leaving, but declined to say what the man might have taken from it or the apartment.
The apartment showed no signs that someone had broken in, McCarley said.
