Rep. Patricia Schroeder (D-Colo.) will discuss women and leadership at a women’s workshop March 2 at California Lutheran University.
“We think of her as being a wonderful role model for leadership for women,” said Kathryn Swanson, Cal Lutheran Women’s Resource Center spokeswoman. Schroeder, who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988, is one of the founders of the Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues, a bipartisan group devoted to advancing women’s legislation in Congress.
The all-day workshop, called “Creative Options: A Day for Women,” will allow participants to choose from 67 classes on topics ranging from self-esteem and health to computer use and folk dancing.
The deadline for registration is Feb. 22. Swanson said the program usually draws about 700 women.
