La Mesa police are investigating the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found Wednesday in an apartment in the 7600 block of Park Way Drive.
Police said the woman may have died of a drug overdose, but County Medical Examiner’s officials said the exact cause will not be given until tests have been conducted.
The woman’s body was discovered at 12:15 p.m. in the apartment by a resident whom police did not identify. The man had agreed to let the woman stay overnight but only knew her by a nickname that police did not disclose.
