BANNER UP! The tide of flag-waving is causing grumbles among those used to seeing Old Glory flown only from dawn to dusk and in a bit more dignified setting than the antenna of a pickup truck. Flag etiquette calls for showing the colors at night only on special occasions, and with lights. . . . The code of etiquette says don’t display the flag on a car “except from a staff.” A county Boy Scouts council official shudders to see some of the current wartime displays of flags, but holds her tongue “as long as they don’t desecrate it.”
