Monday is President’s Day, created to celebrate Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays. It is a federal holiday that falls on the third Monday of each February. Actually, Lincoln’s birthday falls on Feb. 12 and Washington’s on Feb. 22.
Open: The Los Angeles County registrar-recorder’s office, Los Angeles Law Library and most stores. Rapid Transit District buses will follow regular schedules.
Closed: Most government offices, courts, banks, post offices, stock and commodity exchanges, libraries, schools and many businesses.
