COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Princeton Extends Winning Streak to Nine by Defeating Brown, 79-63
It wasn’t easy, but No. 25 Princeton defeated Brown, 79-63, in an Ivy League game Friday night at Providence, R.I., for its ninth consecutive victory.
Princeton (17-2, 8-0) led only 34-33 at halftime despite shooting 68%. Brown (7-14, 2-7) stayed close early in the second half before Princeton took command with a 10-2 run. Chris Mooney scored four of the points and Sean Jackson and Chris Marquardt each made a three-point shot.
Princeton shot 73% for the game.
Yale 69, Penn 64--Travis McCready scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Bulldogs won at New Haven, Conn., in an Ivy League game played 285 fans because of admission restrictions caused by a measles outbreak at Penn.
Fans under the age of 35 had to show proof of immunization against measles before they were allowed in.
