Toddler Hit by Van in Pacoima, Killed
An 18-month-old boy died Sunday after he was struck by a van pulling out of a driveway in Pacoima, Los Angeles police said.
Geovany Vanegas of Northridge was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center after undergoing emergency surgery Sunday afternoon, Officer Anthony Marks said.
The toddler was struck about 2:15 p.m. by a van driven by a San Fernando Valley man, whose name was not available. The driver was leaving a house in the 11500 block of Bromont Avenue when Geovany stepped in front of the van, Marks said. The driver apparently did not see the boy, and police will not seek charges against him, Marks said.
