Redgrave Dumped?: Actress Vanessa Redgrave, who has made headlines because of her anti-war, pro-Iraqi and PLO stance and statements, has been “dumped” from the national company of Peter Shaffer’s hit play, “Lettice & Lovage,” the New York Post reported in a front-page story Monday. The story suggested that while Redgrave had been signed for a nationwide tour scheduled to start in the fall, she is now considered a political hot potato and too great a risk. Reached Monday, a spokesman for the production told The Times that he has been instructed by producers Bernard Jacobs and Gerald Schoenfeld (of the Shubert Organization), Roger Berlind and Robert Fox to respond “no comment” to all inquiries. Redgrave was seen on ABC Sunday night with her sister, Lynn, in a remake of the film, “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?”
