Iraqi crisis: The Times has received 10,261 letters on the Iraq- Kuwait crisis so far; 3,077 letters supported the Bush Administration’s actions; 5,359 were critical of U.S. actions; 1,057 discussed oil and U.S. energy problems, and 768 related the events to other topics. Since the war began, 1,767 writers backed the allied war effort, while 2,140 opposed it.
