Hospital Merger Subject of Forum
The proposed affiliation between Grossmont Hospital and Sharp HealthCare will be the focus of a public forum scheduled for Tuesday night in La Mesa.
The forum will be held from 7 to 10 in the hospital’s Brier Patch Auditorium, 9000 Wakarusa St.
Adding Grossmont would make Sharp the largest health care concern in San Diego County. Since last year, the two have been discussing ways to fold Grossmont under Sharp’s wing while still maintaining its identity as a district hospital.
A Grossmont board vote on the affiliation is expected as early as late March.
