Kyle Petty knocked Ken Schrader off the pole for Sunday’s Goodwrench 500 NASCAR race at Rockingham, N.C., breaking the North Carolina Motor Speedway qualifying record. After Schrader turned a record lap of 149.193 m.p.h., Petty drove his Pontiac Grand Prix around the 1.017-mile oval at 149.205 in 24.538 seconds.
