Missing 11-Year-Old Girl Found Safe at Playground
A missing 11-year-old girl was found safe Sunday in the playground area of a Pasadena park, two days after she was last seen stepping off a school bus in nearby Altadena, authorities said.
Christina Basowa was taken to the Altadena sheriff’s station, where detectives were attempting to determine where she had been for the past two days and how she got to Jackie Robinson Park, Deputy Larry Mead said.
A maintenance worker spotted the girl, a recent immigrant from Africa, near the swings, Mead said. The worker recognized her from news reports and called police.
Basowa was last seen about 3:30 p.m. Friday getting off a school bus a short distance from her home, Mead said.
