Long Beach : Organizers of AIDS Benefit Invite Walkers to Bring Pets
Organizers of AIDS Walk Long Beach, scheduled for March 17, have added a new category to the annual 10-kilometer walk designed to raise money to fight AIDS. They are inviting people from throughout Long Beach to bring their pets for a simultaneous event called Pet Walk.
“We would prefer that pet owners bring their animals in a wagon or other carrier,” said John Gonzales, Pet Walk coordinator. “This will reduce fatigue and cut down on the amount of litter left behind.”
The annual AIDS Walk, now in its third year, is sponsored by the Long Beach AIDS Network, a local nonprofit corporation.
