A former Poway man who operated a methamphetamine lab less than one block from Poway High School was sentenced Wednesday to five years in state prison.

Gary Alan Lundblade, 44, was taken into custody after sentencing by Superior Court Judge Fred Link, who also imposed a $500 fine.

Lundblade pleaded guilty Christmas Eve to possessing more than 3 pounds of methamphetamine for sale in his home on Riparian Road. The drugs were seized by sheriff’s deputies on Jan. 6, 1990.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Tom Manning told the judge that the street value of the four pounds of methamphetamine found in a bathtub was $500,000. He said the drug was placed on paper plates in the bathroom.

The prosecutor said deputies also found $4,000 worth of cocaine in the home, and chemicals and glassware used in manufacturing methamphetamine were in a storage shed.
