Pasadena School Board Member to Face Runoff
Elbie J. Hickambottom, a 12-year veteran of the Pasadena school board, faces his first runoff election April 16, after a count Friday of 467 provisional and absentee ballots cast in Tuesday’s election.
Hickambottom will face attorney and businessman E. Clark Coberly, 42, the runner-up in a three-way race for Office 4 on the Pasadena Unified School District board.
Friday’s count gave Hickambottom 215 more votes, for a total of 6,557--49.5% of votes cast. He needed 50% plus one vote to avoid a runoff. Coberly received 87 more votes, for a total of 3,371, or 25.5%.
