HALLANDALE, Fla. —
Meadow Star’s debut as a 3-year-old was delayed Friday because of a case of hives.
The unbeaten filly, a unanimous choice as last year’s 2-year-old filly champion, was scheduled to run in the 6 1/2-furlong, $23,000 feature for 3-year-old fillies at Gulfstream Park, but was scratched.
Trainer LeRoy Jolley told Gulfstream racing secretary Terry Mayocks that the horse developed a skin problem Thursday evening.
