OXNARD : Stray Gang Bullet Hits Girl’s Chair

A bullet from a gang-related shooting in Oxnard passed through one house into another and struck the chair where a 12-year-old girl was sitting, police said Wednesday.

The shooting occurred about 9 p.m. Monday, when four teen-agers parked their dark blue Buick Regal in front of a residence in the 1700 block of Claremont Drive and fired eight rounds at the house, Oxnard Police Sgt. Frank Devorick said.

Five of the bullets entered the house. Two shots passed through the living room and entered the house behind it, which is in the 1700 block of Dunsmuir Street, Devorick said.

One of the bullets struck a chair where a 12-year-old girl was sitting, but no one was injured, Devorick said.

No arrests have been made, police said.
