With none of the seeded players scheduled to play until today, the opening day of the $2.55-million International Players Championship in Key Biscayne, Fla., was left to comeback curiosities. Tim Mayotte and Pam Shriver won straight-set victories, but Harold Solomon lost. Sixth-seeded Goran Ivanisevic withdrew from the tournament after breaking a finger in practice.
