Police Continue to Seek Killer of Restaurant Guard

Share

A search continued Monday for a gunman who walked into an Arcadia restaurant and opened fire on two bouncers, killing one and wounding the other.

Edward Lee Gordon, 30, of Los Angeles died at the scene early Sunday. Jhonny Jonitely, 29, of Pasadena was listed in “fair and stable” condition Monday at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.

The two men were standing by a door near the bar at Reuben’s on Colorado Boulevard when a man walked in and shot Gordon in the head and Jonitely in the shoulder with a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, said Detective Sharon Reynolds. Witnesses told police the two bouncers had argued with two men shortly before the 12:35 a.m. shooting, but it was uncertain if one of them was the killer. About 100 customers were in the restaurant. No one else was injured, police said.
