NHL ROUNDUP : Flames Come Back to Win, Take One-Point Lead

Paul Ranheim scored his first goal in more than three months to give the Calgary Flames a 3-2 comeback victory over the Vancouver Canucks Wednesday night at Vancouver.

The victory allowed the Flames to take a one-point lead over the second-place Kings in the Smythe Division race, since the Kings were tied by Toronto, 4-4.

Ranheim deflected a shot by Sergei Makarov for his 12th goal of the season at 8:32 of the third period to break a 2-2 tie. Ranheim missed 41 games after breaking his ankle on Dec. 13.

A fight erupted after the game as players from both teams left the benches.

Buffalo 3, Montreal 2--Dave Andreychuk scored his 33rd goal of the season at 1:14 of overtime to give the Sabres a victory over the Canadiens at Buffalo, N.Y.

The Canadiens’ loss clinched the Adams Division championship for the idle Boston Bruins, who lead Montreal by eight points.

Buffalo is 3-1-0 in its last four games.
