Baldwin Park : Card Club to Be Considered

The City Council on Wednesday directed its staff to investigate options for raising city revenues, including the establishment of a card club in the city.
A citizens finance committee told the council Wednesday that it supports creation of a card club, a 3% tax for commercial and industrial utility users, an annual $50 special assessment per household for police services, and increased fees in several areas.
Mayor Bette Lowes asked the city attorney to research a card club ordinance and find out when it could be placed on the ballot.
