MISSION VIEJO : Council Will Vote on Weed Removal
- Share via
A resolution setting an April 22 public hearing on any complaints over a proposed citywide weed-abatement program will be voted on by the City Council tonight.
Some 450 notices, accumulated from citizen complaints, city staff inspections and reports from the county Fire Department, will be sent to property owners asking for weed removal.
Dennis Wilberg, city engineer, said that if the resolution is approved by the council, the notices will be sent around April 1.
Under the resolution, the city will send work crews to clear weeds from land of property owners who do not comply with the notice. The city will bill the property owner.
Businesses and residents would be able to protest the removal orders at the proposed public hearing.
