NEWPORT BEACH : City to Offer Bridge and Singing Lessons

The city’s Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department next week will begin courses for people interested in learning to sing or to improve their bridge games.
Bridge enthusiasts will have a choice of three courses designed for players interested in learning the game or improving their skills.
“Beginning Bridge” will be offered on Tuesdays and “Playing the Hand” will be offered on Thursdays at the Oasis Center in Corona del Mar, both from 7 to 9 p.m. “Intermediate Bridge” will be offered at the Mariners Park/Vincent Jorgenson Center on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $40 for a seven-week session, beginning the first week of April. Registration is required.
For aspiring singers, the department will offer “Tickle Your Tonsils.” It will meet on Thursdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the West Newport Community Center beginning April 4. The fee is $90.
