3 Held in Sledgehammer Slaying of Woman, 44
Three men were arrested Wednesday in the sledgehammer slaying of a 44-year-old Venice woman whose partially clad body was found in a trash dumpster.
Among those booked for murder was a man police called the victim’s 18-year-old boyfriend, Herbert J. Lickliter II.
On Monday, two boys found the body of Mary Sue Sangsahachart in a trash bin on 147th Street in Hawthorne.
Bryan G. Goodman, 21, of Hawthorne, was arrested Wednesday. Detectives initially had sought only two suspects, but the name of a third surfaced during the investigation, Deputy Rich Erickson said. That suspect, Shawn Christopher Gray, 21, described as a transient, was arrested along with Lickliter Wednesday in Lawndale. All were being held without bail at the Hawthorne police station.
