Former Angel Chili Davis had two home runs for the second consecutive game as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-4. Davis hit a solo homer in the second inning and a two-run homer in the seventh. He has four homers, a double, a single and nine runs batted in over his last eight at-bats. . . . Another former Angel, pitcher Mike Witt, who was expected to be the opening day starter for the New York Yankees, threw off a mound for the first time since he strained his pitching elbow March 14 against the Montreal Expos. Witt threw without pain, but he may not be ready to start the season. . . . Left-hander Charlie Leibrandt, who probably will start on opening day in Atlanta against the Dodgers, allowed two hits and struck out five in six innings as the Braves defeated the Yankees, 2-0. Doug Sisk added two shutout innings and Kent Mercker pitched a perfect ninth for the Braves.
