HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Miller Fires 5-Under 31 To Spark Hart Golf Team

Led by Mike Miller with a five-under-par 31, the Hart High golf team defeated Alhambra, 175-215, in a Foothill League match at Almansor Golf Course in Alhambra on Wednesday.

Miller, a senior who eagled the second hole, was three under after two holes and five under after five on the par-36 layout. Hart’s team total of five under par matched its best total of a season ago when it was fifth in the Southern Section.

Jason Gore and Shane O’Brien each shot two-under 34s, followed by teammates Chad Butler (37) and Jason Black (39). Hart is 4-0-1, 2-0 in league play.

Taft d. Kennedy, 15-3, 15-7, 15-13--Aubrey Miller had 15 kills and Amman Catalan added eight to lead Taft (5-3, 2-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference match.

El Camino Real d. Reseda, 15-9, 15-9, 16-14--Brandon Wallace had 15 kills and Andy Yamamoto recorded 51 assists for the Conquistadores (5-3, 1-2) in a Northwest Valley Conference match.

Chatsworth d. Cleveland, 15-10, 15-5, 15-5--Yoshi Minagawa had nine kills and John Tuttle added six stuff blocks for the Chancellors (2-4, 2-1) in a Northwest Valley conference game at Chatsworth.

Birmingham d. Poly, 15-1, 15-7, 15-7--Stanley Yu had 12 kills and Hye Kwon added nine for the host Braves (7-1, 4-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game.

Van Nuys d. Sylmar, 15-8, 15-13, 15-8--Paul Bond and Jerry Breig each had six kills for Sylmar in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match.

North Hollywood d. Canoga Park, 15-7, 15-12, 3-15, 15-4--Gerard Tevant led visiting North Hollywood (1-5, 1-3) in the Valley Pac-8 Conference match.
