George Will on Gun Control
Will’s column comes at an interesting time. The communities of Los Angeles are beginning to feel that the police, representing the local government, are acting as an unlawful tyrant. Therefore, the people maintain the right to bear arms to protect their freedom and safety. Explain that to a police chief who retains absolute power absent civilian control. How would the National Rifle Assn. explain an armed rebellion against the Los Angeles Police Department?
