A Golden Triangle bank was robbed Tuesday morning by a man who demanded money and then, dissatisfied with the his take, requested larger bills, a San Diego police department spokesman said.

The man, who is not believed to be “The A’s” serial bandit, waited his turn in line before demanding “all the money in the drawer” from a teller at the Union Bank branch at 4660 La Jolla Village Drive, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

The robber opened his jacket to reveal the handle of a gun, Robinson said.

“I know you have larger bills in the back of the drawer,” he said to the teller after gathering the first batch of cash from the counter with both hands. He then collected the additional bills placed on the counter by the teller.

The bandit walked out with an unspecified amount of cash, Robinson said. He is described as a 6-foot, 240-pound white male in his 40s, with neck-length brown hair. He wore a brown sports coat, tan silk shirt with a tie and blue pants.
