4 Gunmen Rob Hermosa Pizzeria

Four armed robbers briefly took over a Hermosa Beach pizzeria Sunday night, threatening to kill a cashier and taking purses and wallets from customers before fleeing.

The first of the four men, all of whom carried guns, walked into Jino’s Pizza at 2700 Manhattan Ave. shortly after 9:30 p.m. and walked straight toward the cash register, a police spokesman said.

He pointed his gun at the cashier’s head, ordered her to open the cash drawer and then shoved her aside, threatening to kill her, when she fumbled in her efforts to give him money.

Two of the men acted as lookouts, while a fourth man moved from table to table, ordering customers to give up money and valuables, police said. Within moments of entering the restaurant, the four men fled.

Police, who are seeking suspects, estimate the robbery netted the men about $540.
